KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit Java Sea, Indonesia, at 8.25am today.
The Malaysian Meteorology Department, in a statement here today, said the epicentre of the quake was at 149 kilometres north-east of Bekasi, Indonesia, and 750 kilometres south-west of Tebedu, Sarawak.
However, the earthquake did not pose any tsunami threat, it said. --BERNAMA
