KUALA TERENGGANU: A scarf trader lost nearly RM2 million after her outlet in Jalan Sultan Omar, was destroyed in a fire early today.
State Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Rozizah Abnihajar said the head office received a distress call around 2.50am and 18 firemen were rushed to the scene.
Rozizah said two fire engines from the Kuala Terengganu station and another fire engine from the Jalan Kota station were deployed immediately. They arrived at the scene in eight minutes.
“The whole outlet, selling items such as scarves and cloths, was destroyed by the fire,” she added.
She said the firemen took about one hour to put out the fire.
“We are investigating the cause of the fire,” she said.
