Government will continue to support motorsports, says Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the government will continue to encourage and support motorsports at national level.

This, he said, is to ensure a continued interest in motorsports among the people and to produce Malaysian champions at international level.

"The MotoGP, for example, draws great interest as 90,000 people are expected to watch the Malaysian MotoGP 2016," he said.

The prime minister was speaking to reporters after receiving a courtesy call from three Malaysian MotoGP racers at his office in Parliament House today.

The trio are Moto2 racer Hafizh Syahrin Abdullahdalam and Moto3 racers Khairul Idham Pawi and Adam Norrodin.

They will be competing in the championships at the Sepang International Circuit this weekend.
