JOHOR BARU: Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah visited the scene of the fire at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here today.
She spent 30 minutes being briefed on the situation and visited the wards in the main building including the area near the intensive care unit that caught fire.
Six patients from the ICU died in the fire that occurred about 9am today.
A seventh patient from the ICU was safe and transferred to the Sultan Ismail Hospital.
Raja Zarith was accompanied by Johor Menteri Besar's wife Datin Seri Rosni Omar and state health director Dr Rooshaimi Merican.
