Army mobile hospital at HSA still being set up, fully operational tomorrow [VIDEO]

JOHOR BARU: The army mobile hospital now stationed at the fire-damaged Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA), where it will perform minor surgical operations for the next two weeks, will only begin operations tomorrow.

State Health and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat said the mobile hospital, which has been set up in front of the hospital’s main building, will serve as a temporary operation theatre and ward for minor injury cases.

"The mobile hospital will only start operations tomorrow, as the hospital administration is in the midst of setting up the medical equipment and getting the operation centre powered with electricity," he said.

Ayub added that the Fire and Rescue Department is working with hospital technicians to ensure that the equipment to be used is in working order and can be safely connected to the hospital's power source.

"The mobile hospital will be entirely manned by the HSA staff, including the surgeons and infection control unit," he said.

Ayub stated that the army is lending the mobile hospital to the HSA for two weeks, but mentioned that the operation might be extended.

"We are requesting an extension for the mobile hospital to be stationed for a longer period at the HSA," he added.
