RM143.64bil worth of deals signed with China: PM Najib

BEIJING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the proposed investments from 14 business arrangements sealed today as part of his ongoing official visit to China totalled RM143.64 billion.

“What we achieved today is historic,” he said at a Press conference with Malaysian media here.

Najib said the value of investments further supports the conclusion that the official visit, his third as prime minister, would bring bilateral relations between Malaysia and China to new heights.

The prime minister said the visit also achieved another landmark with the purchase of four littoral mission ships by the Malaysian Navy, the first time Malaysia is buying military equipment from China.

Najib said two of the vessels will be built in China, while the remaining two will be made in Malaysia.
