TVB's legal drama Black Heart White Soul is as dark as it is refreshing with an unexpected plot twist

IT is not very often that one comes across a good series, let alone one that’s intriguing and enjoyable from start to finish. One such series is TVB’s Black Heart White Soul.

Starring Roger Kwok, Ron Ng, Kristal Tin, Louis Cheung and Matt Yeun, the fast-paced gripping drama has an intense plot and unexpected twist that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The series is about three individuals who cross path when they are involved in a robbery case.

When Mei Ching (Tin) is charged with attempted robbery, her case is brought to court where it catches the attention of renowned barrister Ko Chit Hang (Kwok). Despite all his efforts to exculpate Mei Ching from the charge, he fails and she is sent to jail. Upon her release a few years later, Ko hires Mei Ching to be his assistant.

Police detective Lap Fan (Ng) is constantly being haunted by his past — he accidentally shot an innocent bystander, who turns out to be Ko. Bearing no grudges against Lap Fan, Ko becomes his close friend. Later, Mei Ching and Lap Fan discover a horrifying truth about Ko. Ko is not what he seems to be.

The series also sees Kwok playing the villain for the first time since 2008’s Last One Standing.

Black Heart White Soul airs every Monday to Wednesday at 11pm on ntv7.
