KUALA LUMPUR: Umno today launched its first infographic booklet aimed at addressing current issues and allegations leveled against the party, Barisan Nasional and the Federal government. The 100-page book, titled 'Infografik Pilihan' (Selected Infographics), was published by the party's Information Technology Bureau chaired by Datuk Ahmad Maslan.
It was launched by Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak in a ceremony at the lobby of Menara Dato' Onn about 8.30pm.
Ahmad, in a statement, said the book contains infographic posters generated from gathered facts and figures, which the bureau has published through social media between July and November.
He said the information revolved mainly on current and hot issues, including 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), United States' Department of Justice, Goods and Services Tax, Bersih 5 rally, Transformasi Nasional 2050 Vision, and intervention of foreign elements in Malaysia's affairs, among others.
“This book is the first series, and Umno IT Bureau will continue to publish the next series from time to time.
"It is hoped that this book can answer the questions that had been lingering in the rakyat's minds," he said.
The statement said the infographics can serve as a reference point on important issues and events that happened locally and internationally, and each Umno delegate to the Umno General Assembly 2016 would be given a copy.
