Navy to sign MoU with MACC in bid to fight graft

LUMUT: The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to curb corruption among its personnel and companies dealing with them on Dec 13.

RMN chief Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin said through the MoU, the RMN would be consulted on its practices, systems and work procedures to shut out any space and opportunity for corruption within the force.

“In addition, it also aims at establishing continuous cooperation on investigation of corruption cases, malpractices and joint operations,” he told a press conference after attending the RMN Town Hall Meeting here today.

At the event, 780 representatives of companies and suppliers dealing with the RMN read out the Corporate Integrity Pledge, declaring their commitment to provide the best services to the RMN.--BERNAMA
