On the small screen: Anugerah Melodi 2016, Lethal Weapon 3, Jalan-Jalan Makan Angin and more

For the first time ever, TV3’s infotainment programme Melodi is having its own awards show, Anugerah Melodi 2016, scheduled for tomorrow night

Catch the two-hour live broadcast from Dewan Tun Ismail in Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur at 9pm on TV3.

The weekly show, which has become a benchmark in the local entertainment industry, is one of the hottest programmes of its genre since its debut in 1992.

At this inaugural awards, the objective is to celebrate the personalities who have added colour to the industry over the years. Ten awards will be presented and winners will be solely determined by fans, voted on its website www.anugerahmelodi.com.my from Oct 31 to Nov 30.

The 10 categories are: Melodi’s Film Personality, Melodi’s Music Personality, Melodi’s Drama Personality, Melodi’s Hosting Personality, Melodi’s Comedy Personality, Melodi’s Sensational Couple, Melodi’s Social Media Personality, Melodi’s fashion Personality, Melodi’s Sports Personality, and Melodi’s 2016 Sensational Personality.

Artistes who will perform at the awards show include Amy Search, Candy, Mus May, Saleem, Sahara Yaacob, Francissca Peter, Misha Omar, Zamani, Projektor Band, Hazama, Azlan Typewriter, Black, Tomok, Sufian Suhaimi, Harris Baba, Aiman Tino as well as Indonesian stars Afgan, Marcell and Rizky Febian.

Anugerah Melodi 2016 will be hosted by AG of Kool FM, in addition to the former weekly show hosts, which include Datuk Mahadzir Lokman (the first to helm Melodi), Fauziah Ahmad Daud and Zizan Razak.

Hindi movie Hulchul airs tomorrow at 2pm on TV3. It tells of the wealthy Angar Chand who lives in a small town in India with his wife, and four sons. Starring Amrish Puri, Lakshmi, Akshaye Kapoor Khan, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal.

Police officers Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Murtaugh (Danny Glover) team up again in Lethal Weapon 3 at 9.05pm on Warner TV HD. This time they must track down a crooked cop who has stolen weapons from the Los Angeles police depot.

Catch World’s Strangest Jobs on RTL CBS Extreme HD at 9.35pm. Host Jason Bradbury travels around the world to identify some of the most unusual professions in the world.

At 11pm on Comedy Central HD, laugh yourself silly with Saturday Night Live which launched the careers of numerous American comedy legends including Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey and Kristen Wiig, among others.

On Sunday at 10.30am RTL CBS Entertainment HD will air the The X Factor UK Season Finals. Join Simon, Nicole, Sharon and Louis as they crown this year’s winner of the biggest talent show in the world.

Jalan-Jalan Makan Angin airs at 11.30am on TV3. Hosted by Nadzmi Adhwa and Anas Ridzuan, the travelogue focuses on unique local destinations in the country. The hosts will also highlight interesting eateries.

Brody Stevens: Enjoy It! airs at 8.10pm on Comedy Central HD. Brody attempts to reconcile with his estranged sister in time to celebrate their mother’s 80th birthday.

Take a trip to the most northerly town on the planet and meet some of the quirky people who live in an isolated outpost within the breathtaking wilderness of the Svalbard archipelago in Ice Town: Life On The Edge on BBC Earth HD at 9.45pm
