(Badminton) SS Purple League unveils five new sponsors

KUALA LUMPUR: SS Purple League chief executive officer Datuk Jack Koh believes the involvement of huge sponsors is a testament to the growth of the league and its contribution towards the development of badminton in the country.

The SS Purple League, now in its third year, today announced five new sponsors - Resort World Genting, Li-Ning, 100Plus, Pearl International Hotel and Lazada Malaysia.

The five sponsors along with title sponsors, Samsung and Senheng, have pledged a total RM6 million to the running of this season’s league.

“I would like to sincerely thank all sponsors for coming on board and sharing our belief in the SS Purple League. It is very satisfying to see the league grow to what it is today,” said Jack.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Razali Ibrahim, who was also at the event, held at Pearl International Hotel, added: “The world is evolving and so is badminton which is our strong suit. We do not want to fall behind.

“So any form of development, whether for the youth or senior players is always welcomed.”

Since its inception, the Purple League has been operating on a budget of about RM10 million.
