BALING: The body of a 16-year-old boy who was believed to have drowned while swimming in Sungai Kuala Merah, Kuala Ketil here on Wednesday, has been found at 5.50pm today.
The remains of Muhammad Saiful Aiman Kilinam was found about 200 metres away from the spot he where he was last seen.
A villager found the deceased body stuck between some woods on the riverbed, along a stretch where the water is about six-metre deep water.
It was reported that the victim had gone swimming in the river with several friends at about 3.30pm Wednesday.
The youngest child of eight had swam across the river and was swimming back towards his friends who were waiting on the other side when he developed muscle cramps and was swept away by the strong currents.
