KUALA TERENGGANU: Duyong Marina Resort in Pulau Duyong and Pulau Warisan are the two locations chosen as the launch venues of the Visit Beautiful Terengganu 2017 event this coming Saturday.
State Tourism and Culture deputy committee chairman Wan Abdul Hakim Wan Mokhtar said the event is expected to be officiated by the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.
According to Abdul Hakim, close to 10,000 people are expected to attend the launch, set to take place at both Pulau Warisan and Pulau Duyong on Dec 31.
He said currently, there are 17 main tourism activities lined up in the calendar of events for the Visit Terengganu Year 2017. They include the Pesta Pantai, Kenyir Festival and Swimmathon that will be held between Mar 18 and 26, next year.
“The three events are expected to be the main attraction among visitors during the school holidays,” he told reporters after visiting the event venue at Pulau Warisan today.
On top of that, he added that the three-day launch will also feature seven nasi lemak entrepreneurs, all of whom will be preparing the breakfast staple of many, to be provided for free to the first 1,000 visitors, from 9.30am onwards, on all three days.
