Pas strikes back at Kit Siang, warns DAP adviser not to issue baseless statements

KOTA BARU: Pas has stated that the party has its own reason for not attending the official launch of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) last Saturday.

Pas vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said Lim Kit Siang’s statement that Pas is giving its support to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, also Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, is baseless.

Amar warned the DAP adviser not to give such vague remarks, and added that Lim must be ‘smart’ next time when it comes to issuing statements.

“Pas never did say it will support Najib or BN. We will fight against Barisan Nasional in the coming 14th General Election and Lim must never make such baseless allegations about Pas from now on,” he said.

Amar, who is also Kelantan deputy Menteri Besar said Pas did not attend the function because Parti Amanah Negara (Pan) and DAP were present.

“Our stand on DAP and Pan is very clear and it will never change. On PPBM, we will be with the party only for ‘political cooperation’ but at the moment, no decision has been made yet over the matter although we have meet them twice so far to discuss the issue (political cooperation),” he said.
