PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today extended his congratulations to Mike Pence on his appointment as vice president of the United States.
In a statement today, Zahid said both countries will work closely to weed out extremism and radicalism.
"We will work hand-in-hand with the US in finding solutions in areas of conflict for a better and safer world," he added.
On the economic front, Zahid said Malaysia believes that the US administration will formulate a policy that is acceptable and good for all nations.
"Malaysia will work alongside the US for a comprehensive approach to enhance every aspect of our bilateral ties," he said.
