Fazura denies romantic link with popular American DJ Randy Seidman

IT is no secret that award-winning actress and singer Nur Fazura Sharifuddin is close to popular American DJ Randy Seidman, whom she has known for some time now.

She even admitted, in 2014, that they were friends.

Fans and followers have seen their photos together, posted on Fazura’s Instagram account.

But, a recent YouTube video has had her fans eager to find out whether the two are more than friends.

In the video, which highlighted the proposed Muslim ban in the United States, Seidman referred Fazura as his girlfriend.

“In the US, the term ‘girlfriend’ just refers to a female friend.

“It doesn’t necessarily mean that the person is a special someone,” the 33-year-old Fazura told reporters at a signing ceremony with Universal Music Malaysia at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur recently.

She said she enjoyed being in Seidman’s company.

“He is very caring and considerate.

“I once said that I wanted to get married by 24, but well, it looks like I’ve passed that deadline for quite some time already,” she joked.

“I have to put marriage aside for the time being, as I’m very busy right now.

“To fall in love now would not be a good idea. It won’t be fair to that person, as I might not have much time to spend with him due to my tight schedule.

“By the time I’m done with work, I’m be too tired to do anything. I’d rather head home and unwind with a good book, or watch some TV.

“As it is, I haven’t been spending as much time with my female friends as I would like to.

“We catch up just once a month,” said Fazura, who acted in three Indonesian films last year.

Having made her mark there, she hopes to make an impression as a singer in the Philippines, through the single, Nothing Like Pag Ibig (pag ibig is Tagalog for “love”).

The track is available on digital platforms such as Spotify.

The single is a duet with The Voice Of The Philippines’ Season Two champion Jason Dy.

The collaboration was facilitated by Universal Music Malaysia when she agreed to be an artiste under its 360 Talent Management.

Fazura said she accepted the offer as it would manage not just her singing career, but also acting and ambassadorship deals.

“I could not let the opportunity fly out the window,” she said, adding that she had previously received offers from other music labels.

The media was also shown the official music video for Nothing Like Pag Ibig, which was filmed in Manila last year.

“While it took me 30 minutes to record the song, the music video took 3½ hours to film,” said Fazura.

“I hope that through this song, my presence in the Philippines is welcomed,” she said, adding that TV programme Facing Up With Fazura, which aired on the E! channel in the Philippines, helped tremendously in “introducing” her to fans in the country.
