What poisons could've killed Kim?

KUALA LUMPUR: Authorities are looking into the possible poisons that could have been used in the murder of Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, at klia2 on Monday.

The substances, when ingested, can lead to poisoning in a matter of minutes, or only manifest after an hour, leading to conditions such as loss of consciousness, dizziness, difficulty in breathing and death.

The poisons — potassium cyanide, methyl parathion and sodium monofluoroacetate — have been used in past assassinations in North Korea’s clandestine operations.

Poisons have been part of the arsenal of North Korea’s highly trained spies.
