KUALA LUMPUR: In another sign that the national polls are drawing near, the Election Commission (EC) on Thursday advertised two offers for tenders to supply and transport two types of bags for use in the 14th General Election (GE14).
In the first offer, the EC is looking for a supplier of bags for ballot boxes, while the second offer is for sling bags, believed for use by election staff members.
The closing date for both offers is at 12 noon, March 9.
The advertisement was published in Berita Harian’s classifieds.
Those interested are invited to register for the tender at the EC’s headquarters in Putrajaya.
Speculation has been rife on the date of the GE14 ever since Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak sounded the war drums for polls during the Umno general assembly last year.
“God willing, the battle torch is strong and will lead to a strong win for the Barisan Nasional in the 14th general election, due soon,” Najib was quoted as saying.
