KUALA LUMPUR: Police are mulling action over the leak of a CCTV recording connected to the death of Kim Jong-nam, the elder brother of North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-un.
The dissemination of the CCTV recording is seen as interfering in police investigation into the case.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, when asked about the matter and the action to be taken against those who spread the recording, replied succinctly: "We will study (it)."
Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Datuk Seri Abdul Samah Mat, when posed the same question, said police will investigate the matter before taking further action.
"(The dissemination of the CCTV recording), to some extent, disturbs the task of the police," he said.
The clip, lasting 2.33 seconds, which was aired by a foreign broadcasting company, went viral on social media sites last night.
Last Sunday, Jong-nam was reported to be at klia2 to board a flight to Macau, when a woman suddenly covered his face with a piece of cloth, believed to have been laced with liquid poison.
Jong-nam, whose name was stated as Kim Chol on his passport, died while being rushed to the Putrajaya Hospital. - BERNAMA
