Scott Sunderland wins first stage of 2017 Le Tour de Langkawi

KUALA TERENGGANU: Australian Scott Sunderland of Isowhey Sports Wellness won stage one of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTDL) with a time of 2:54.45s from Kuala Berang to Kuala Terengganu (124.8km).

Sunderland also leads the Points Classification (Teal Jersey), however, it will be worn by Team Dimension Data's Ryan Gibbons in second at Thursday's stage two from Jerteh to Gerik (208.1km).

Malaysia's Nur Amirull Fakhruddin of Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) became the first Malaysian in 22-years to don the polka dot jersey for King of the Mountain at eight points.

Shiki Kuroeda of Aisan Racing Team was named Asian Rider Overall.
