(Football) The game must go on: Malaysia to play North Korea in Pyongyang

KUALA LUMPUR: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) was notified by Wisma Putra today that there is no reason why the national team cannot travel to Pyongyang for an international match later this month.

Malaysia is scheduled to play North Korea in the 2018 Asian Cup Group B qualifying match on March 25.

With diplomatic relations at an all-time low following the murder of Kim Jong-nam on Feb 13, FAM had earlier requested that the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) change the venue of the match to a neutral country. However, in view of the foreign ministry’s advisor, this request is likely to be rejected.
