Warning, crocs ahead

ALI, who visited Klang recently, was shocked to see a sign warning visitors of crocodiles by the riverside.

“I didn’t know the Klang River had crocodiles. If it is true, the reptiles should be caught or killed before they harm anyone,” he said.

After seeing the sign, Ali asked his children to move away from the area.

ACTIONLINE:

Sightings of saltwater crocodiles near the iconic Kota Bridge in Klang have prompted the Selangor Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) and Klang Municipal Council to put up signs warning the public.

Perhilitan director Rahim Othman said signs were erected in Taman Pengkalan Batu, Taman Pengkalan Kampar and Taman Sungai Jati.

A video showing the crocodiles went viral in January, with fisherman claiming there were at least three such reptiles in the area.

Locals and tourists have been flocking to the area since last month to catch a glimpse of the crocodiles.
