MALACCA: A contract worker was charged at the Sessions Court here today with having an incestuous relationship with his teenage daughter six years ago.
The 51-year-old man from Kampung Pernu, here, pleaded not guilty to the charge which was read to him before Judge Ahmad Sazali Omar.
According to the charge sheet, the man was alleged to have committed the offence with his then 17-year-old daughter at about 12.30am in November 2011.
The offence was under Section 376B of the Penal Code which provides a maximum jail sentence of 30 years and whipping.
Deputy public prosecutor Siti Ruvinna Mohd Rawi applied to the court to deny bail as the crime involved that of a father and daugther who lived in the same home.
Counsel Ishak Kari who represented the accused said he would left the matter to the court's discretion.
Judge Ahmad Sazali then denied the bail and set March 27 as the mention date for the case.
