Kupikupifm's annual KK concert to feature Indonesian band Repvblik

KOTA KINABALU: Indonesian band Repvblik, whose list of hits includes ‘Sandiwara Cinta’, will be performing here this Saturday.

Repvblik’s upcoming show is made possible thanks to community-focused radio station, Kupikupifm 96.3FM, which is bringing in the band and inviting 13 local artistes to perform at its free concert at the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association hall in Penampang.

Radio programme manager, Lester Miol, said the concert is being held as a gesture of appreciation to its listeners in Sabah’s west coast.

Since its inception in 2015, the station’s playlist has been almost 80 per cent local, serving as a platform for Sabahan singers and entertainers to showcase their talents.

"We know our efforts will lay the foundation for Sabah songs to be heard outside of our community – possibly even outside the country.

"That is why we have invited overseas artists to our concert this year”, he added.

The 7pm concert will be preceded by a day-long carnival at the same venue, where the public stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes.
