The 'just bitten' effect

Besides its moisturing effect, this Two Tone Tint Lip Bar will help you achieve Korean gradient lips, writes Hanna Hussein

I AM not really a fan of K-Drama but I can’t deny that I am obsessed with Korean beauty looks, especially the gradient lip that has now become a trend in Korea!

Oh you know what I mean, flawless skin with cute “just sucked on a lollipop” look.

It is such an easy look to copy and with the help of the new Two-Tone Tint Lip Bar by Laneige, you can achieve it in just a minute!

THE VERDICT

When I first received the product, I thought that the packaging looked cheap. It is a light-pink rectangular plastic tube with a click-on-cap and a lever on the side.

The lipstick bullet will rise when you press down the lever, a bit tricky because it works in the opposite direction.

The product consists of a two colour V-cut — with one side the colour tint and the other, the balm.

My first impression was that I might not like it, but I ended up loving it!

To apply, place the lip bar on the lower lip so that the strong tint colour of the V can be applied on the inside of the lower lip. For the upper lip, reverse the lip bar so that the strong tint colour of the V can be applied on the inside of the upper lip.

Then, smack your lips so that the boundary of colours are blended well to produce gradation.

What I love about it is that the product glides on smoothly and is so moisturising.

The 7.5mm V-cut design, optimised to colour the centre of the lips, expresses optimal tint gradation with a single sliding application as colour spreads naturally on the lips. Plus, the colour is very pigmented.

Meanwhile, the lip balm consists of Lip Sleeping Mask Moisture Wrap technology with skin-purifying factors to keep lips moisturised by forming a moisture tank over the lips with a moisture-keeping film.

I also love the yummy fruity scent that does not leave the lips after application.

Laneige launched eight colours for the Two Tone Tint Lip Bars, and I got to try out the Tint Mint, Lollypop Red and Cherry Milk. I can’t say which is my favourite since I actually love all three!
