Nine A+ scorer puts brains before beauty

NILAI: Natasya Qisty Mohd Ridzuan was the star today at the Tunku Kurshiah College’s (TKC) SPM result announcement.

The 18-year-old scored nine A+ in her SPM examinations and also stunned the crowd with her striking resemblance to actress Neelofa.

Surprised by the remark, the Selangor-born lass said she was humbled by the comment.

“Neelofa is truly a beauty. I pale in comparison but nevertheless I am touched and grateful to be compared with someone like her,” she said.

Natasya scored A+ in nine subjects including Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

“My sister is a part-time model but at the moment, I am not interested in modelling,” she said, smiling.

She added that she is not good in front of the camera, which rules out showbiz for her.

The eldest of three sibling said her main focus now is to pursue her studies in Pure Science.

When asked if she has any study tips to share, Natasya said, just like any other students, she gives her 100 per cent focus in class.

“I paid attention in class and I would not hesitate to ask questions on things or subjects that I didn’t understand. I divided my time wisely between studies and spending time with my family and friends, so it helped to refresh my mind,” she said.

TKC emerged as Negri Sembilan’s top school for SPM 2016 and was also accorded the best fully-residential boarding school nationwide with 62 of its 151 SPM candidates obtaining straight As in the examination.
