KUALA LUMPUR: The SPM results are out, the school holidays are here, so now is a good time as any to really de-stress and have some fun.
If you’re into virtual reality games, why not head to eCurve at Damansara Perdana for the eCurve Virtual Reality Experience fair?
The 10-day fair, targeted at students (as well as adults) in conjunction with the school holidays, offers visitors the opportunity to step into an immersive world of VR through games.
Brought in by eCurve Mutiara Damansara and VR Lab, the fair is offering 10 differentVR games including Unbreakable VR Runner, Thrill of the Fight, Richie’s Plank Experience, The Brookhaven Experience, Fruit Ninja and many more.
VR Lab CEO Datin Shireen Tan says the VR games are different from the normal VR people are used to experiencing with their phones and VR viewer.
“We’re using HTC VIVE Virtual Reality System which is designed for an immersive, room-scale virtual reality experience. Players will be visually, physically and emotionally drawn into awe-inspiring characters, sights and sounds as if they in the game where they can walk around and engage with the characters they meet,” she said.
Meanwhile, eCurve centre manager Azizul Hisham Ahmad said the family-oriented mall is designed to with entertainment space, which makes it the perfect venue for the VR fair.
“The VR event gives visitors the chance to experience a new technology,” he said.
Visitors can expect to pay RM10 for each VR game but there is a package deal of RM50 for seven games and one green screen game with video recording.
Azizul said students with a valid student ID or those who come dressed in Cosplay outfits or use the available costumes at the venue will get to play two games and a green screen recording. If they spend RM100 in a single receipt at any outlet in eCurve, they are entitled to one Fruit Ninja game.
The eCurve Virtual Reality Experience fair starts today and will end on March 26.
