Global Transformation Forum: Industry captains to share how they overcame adversity

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s transformation into a high-income economy will gain traction today with the opening of the Global Transformation Forum (GTF) 2017 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

He will deliver the keynote address at the two-day forum titled “The World Needs Transformation” at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, here.

The forum will see homegrown industry captains and global who’s who revealing how they overcame adversity by setting seemingly impossible targets, having a clear end-game and instilling the discipline of action.

Permodalan Nasional Bhd group chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar will give a talk on “National Transformation: Problems, Perspectives and Pathways” in a panel discussion.

He will be joined by Delivery Associates managing partner Sir Michael Barber and Amref Health Africa International chairman Omari Issa.

The discussion will be moderated by Khazanah Research Institute managing director Datuk Charon Mokhzani.

In the afternoon, Performance Management and Delivery Unit chief executive officer Datuk Idris Jala will speak about “Transformational Road Less Travelled”.

Corporate superstar Sir Richard Branson, the founder and chairman of Virgin Group, will talk about business transformation and leadership, moderated by CNN business news anchor Richard Quest.

The second day will feature talks by Olympic champion Usain Bolt on “Lighting Bolt Transformation: The Usain Bolt Code”.

Alibaba Group executive chairman and philanthropist Jack Ma will be sharing about “Ali Baba Transformation: The Jack Ma Way”.

GTF is the world’s singular platform for influential, global leaders to engage and share experiences and best practices on how to drive transformation.
