It's official: Tunku Ismail is new FAM president

PETALING JAYA: Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim won the FA of Malaysia (FAM) presidency unopposed while Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal and Datuk Yusoff Mahadi garnered the highest votes for the two deputy posts at the association's congress-cum-election today.

FA of Selangor (FAS) head Subahan received 37 votes, four more than Malacca team manager Yusoff while incumbent Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah from Kelantan failed to get re-elected, garnering only six votes.

Datuk S. Sivasundaram, Joehari Ayob, Datuk Abd Ghani Hassan and Datuk Rosmadi Ismail recorded the highest number of votes for the four vice-president posts.

Only 38 delegates from 20 affiliates voted in the election.

Kelantan FA adviser Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who withdrew his candidacy for the president post on Thursday, was the only delegate who did not attend.
