KUALA LUMPUR: Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) today announced income distribution of 6 sen per unit for Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM) and 6.5 sen for Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 (ASB 2).

Its total income distribution payout amounted to RM1 billion and RM384.7 million for ASM and ASB 2, respectively.

On the 2017 outlook, PNB said its strategic plan "Strive-15" is progressing well with the announcement of Sime Darby Bhd and UMW Holdings Bhd's de-mergers.

"These exercises, together with the improvement in the broad equity market had contributed to enhance the total value of PNB strategic companies by RM20 billion since the beginning of 2017 till March 24, 2017," said PNB group chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar during the income distribution announcement today.

PNB's total assets under management grew 4.6 per cent in 2016 to surpass RM260 billion compared to RM254.6 billion in 2015.
