Kim Jong-Nam: Reporters left confused in front of HKL

KUALA LUMPUR: Recent turn of events have caused confusion among local and foreign journalists, who have been sitting in front of the National Institute of Forensic Medicine (IPFN), Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) where the body of Kim Jong-nam is being held.

Around 4pm today HKL workers took down all the facilities given to the media during the Kim Jong Nam case.

On Feb 24, HKL had set up tents and provided chairs and tables for the journalists assigned there.

When journalists asked the workers on why they were taking back all the facilities, the media team was asked to refer to their supervisor.

“I was given orders by my superiors to take all of the facilities back,” said the worker.

However later at 5pm, the workers came to set up the tents after they were taken down earlier.

Journalists, confused on the matter, began questioning the workers.

“Our director called us to put the tents back for the media,” a HKL source told Bernama.

Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was murdered at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) on Feb 13 by two women using the highly toxic VX nerve agent.

Jong-nam had sought help at a customer service counter in the airport, and was rushed to the Putrajaya Hospital but died on the way.

He had come to Malaysia on Feb 6, using a passport bearing the name of Kim Chol. -- Bernama
