PETRA JAYA: A 25-year-old car accessories salesman was charged at the magistrate's court here today with murdering his girlfriend at the Liang Kee Commercial Centre here last month.
Salman Kassim was charged with committing the offence in a room rented by the victim, identified as Sindan Atom, between 1.30am and 3.30am on March 24.
He was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
No plea was recorded.
Magistrate Portia Tham fixed May 3 for mention pending the chemist and post-mortem reports of the victim.
Prosecuting officer inspector Hisyam Junaidi prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
