ALOR GAJAH: A man who filmed his sexual assault on his teenage stepdaughter, pleaded guilty to charges of molesting her, including forcing her to perform oral sex, at the Alor Gajah Sessions Court here today.
The accused, a burger seller, was sentenced to a total of 18 years jail and 10 strokes of the rotan by judge Wan Mohd Norisham Wan Yaakob.
He was first charged with using criminal force against his stepdaughter, who was 13-years and 10-months old at the time of the assault.
The offence was committed at 3am on March 30 this year at a bedroom in their family home in Taman Pengkalan Indah.
The man was also charged with committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature.
Deputy public prosecutor Muhammad Syaiful Akmal Mohd Razi urged for a deterrent sentencing as the accused not only sexually assaulted his stepdaughter, but also strangled her and threatened to kill her mother with a knife.
He said the accused also tied both the victim's hands with a phone charger cable and filmed the sexual assault.
The man, who was unrepresented, pleaded for a lower sentence citing health reasons and that he had repented.
Judge Wan Mohd Norisham ordered the man to be jailed three years jail and be given two strokes of the rotan for the first charge, and 15 years jail and eight strokes of the rotan for the subsequent offence.
The judge ordered the jail term to run concurrently from the date of sentencing.
