KUALA LUMPUR: The Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim will be heading three permanent committees of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) for the 2017-2021 term after winning the governing body’s president post unopposed on March 25.
The three committees are the Emergency Committee, Finance and Management Committee as well as the National Team Management Committee.
FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin in a statement announced that the selection of Tunku Ismail to lead the three committees was decided at the first FAM Executive Committee meeting for the 2017-2021 term in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah yesterday.
FAM deputy president Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi who will be heading the Local Competitions Committee, will be assisted by Mohd Firdaus Mohamed while the other FAM deputy president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal was chosen to head the Technical and Youth Development Football Committee. He will be assisted by former NST sports journalist, Christopher Raj.
Former Johor state secretary, Datuk Ismail Karim was appointed as FAM Treasurer apart from heading the Internal Audit Committee.
