PKR's Adam Rosly arrives at court, charges expected

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR Ampang Youth chief Datuk Adam Rosly arrived today at the sessions court, where he is expected to be charged with providing authorities with forged documents and false statements.

The offences fall under Section 32(8)(c) and Section 89 of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001, for providing false documents and statements.

Adam, clad in an orange Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) lockup shirt, arrived at about 9am.

The 28-year-old smiled for press photographers’ cameras as he was ushered into the courtroom by MACC officers.

Several people, believed to be his family members and supporters, had been present at the court public gallery since 8.30am.

Ampang Member of Parliament Zuraida Kamaruddin was also present.

The case will be heard before Judge Allaudeen Ismail and prosecuted by Ahmad Akram Gharib.

Adam was detained by the MACC when recording his statement at their headquarters in Putrajaya on Apr 13.

The MACC also seized Adam’s RM1.2 million bungalow in Ampang, five luxury vehicles and eight accounts under his and his wife's names, with money totalling RM212,461.41.
