PUTRAJAYA: The Road Transport Department's deputy director-general (operations) Datuk Yusoff Ayob was today fined RM600 by the magistrate's court for driving on the emergency lane.
Yusoff, 58, pleaded guilty to committing the offence at Lingkaran Putrajaya, Wilayah Putrajaya, Selangor Administrative Area at 6.27pm on Oct 7, last year.
However, Yusoff was not present in court and his special officer, pleaded guilty on his behalf.
The officer told magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim W. Ab Rahman that Yusoff was monitoring the emergency lane when he was photographed by the public.
Later when requested by the press, the officer declined to give his name.
Prosecuting officer, Hafizuddin Mohd Lutfi from the Selangor Road Transport Department, appeared for the prosecution.
