MACC remands company director over FIC's Kuching hotel purchase

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has obtained a six-day remand order against a director to assist probe into Felda Investment Corporation’s (FIC) purchase of a luxury hotel in Kuching, Sarawak.

The suspect, clad in orange lock-up attire and handcuffed, was brought before the magistrate's court, here, at 10.40am, today.

The remand order was issued by Magistrate Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman.

The 57-year-old, who is the director of a company which owned the hotel, is the third suspect arrested.

He was detained in Kuching during his visit to the MACC’s office there at around 1.30pm, yesterday.

Yesterday, MACC detained two directors of a company at the commission’s headquarters, here, to have their statements recorded.

The duo, aged 47 and 51, were appointed as an agent to manage the purchase of the hotel.
