Teen raped 600 times: Proceedings delayed as prosecutor, investigator count 'mountain' of charge sheets

PUTRAJAYA: A man who allegedly sodomised, raped and sexually abused his teenage daughter over 600 times over a period of two years, is being charged at the Special Court for Sexual Crimes Against Children here.

The 36-year-old, who was brought before judge Yong Zarida Sazali, bent his head low as he was led into the courtroom to hide his face from press photographers.

He arrived in court at 8.50am. However, the proceedings only began at 2.50pm as the deputy public prosecutor and the investigating officer had to count the charge sheets the whole morning before the proceedings could begin.

It is understood that there are 632 charges against him under the Penal Code, Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 (SOACA), and the Child Act 2016.

The judge ordered for all the charges to be read out in court.

It was reported that the accused had committed the atrocities on his now 15-year-old daughter ever since he divorced his wife in 2015.

The victim, who had been living with him since the divorce, only revealed her ordeal to her mother when she learnt that her father planned to take her two younger sisters to live with them.
