Two remanded over alleged fraud involving Nilai affordable housing scheme

SEREMBAN: Two employees of Syarikat Juta Kelulut Global Resources (SJKGR) have been remanded for two days to facilitate a probe into fraud allegations surrounding an affordable housing scheme run by the company and DBI Properties in Nilai.

Nilai deputy police chief Superintendent Azrul Hisham Mohd Shaffie said the remand order was granted by the Seremban magistrate’s court here today.

He said both suspects, aged 30 and 45, will be investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for alleged fraud involving a 30-year-old victim from Nilai in May last year.

"The victim had claimed that he lost RM60,000 as payment for the affordable housing scheme, which never took off. Following a police report lodged by the victim, both suspects were detained in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur at 3pm on Tuesday," Azrul Hisham said.

He added that a 40-year-old woman was detained in Nilai prior to the arrest of the two suspects.

The two suspects were arrested together with a Datuk from DBI Properties, for allegedly cheating the public with an offer to sell property below their market value.
