49 people arrested at 2 entertainment outlets, including 45 underage teenagers

KUALA LUMPUR: Forty five underage teenagers were among 49 people arrested by the police at two entertainment outlets in pre-dawn raids.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sukri Kaman said the operation that started at 4am was conducted by the district criminal investigation department division at Jalan P.Ramlee and Jalan Brunei.

“The two premises had violated Rules 27 and 30 of the Entertainment (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Act 1992 for operating beyond the permitted time and allowing underage people to enter the outlet.

“We arrested 49 people in two raids. Among them were 45 underage people and four foreigners without documentation and overstaying,” he said.

He added those arrested, aged between 16 and 20, were taken to Dang Wangi police headquarters for further action.
