Labuan cops round up 29 people at illegal gambling outlets

LABUAN: Twenty five men and four women were arrested during a police raid on two gambling premises here on Tuesday night.

Sabah Criminal Investigation chief Datuk Salehhudin Abd Rahman said the premises were operating without permits.

“Those arrested, aged between 19 and 61, were eight workers and 21 people playing gambling machines.

“Police also seized 81 simulator machines, 487 coupons and RM9,470 in cash,” he said in a statement, adding that the raid was conducted at about 9.15pm.

The case is being investigated under Section 4B(a) of the Open House Gambling Act 1953 for organising illegal gambling activities at a premises.
