Landscape architect fined RM6,000 for corruption

KANGAR: A landscape architect was fined RM6,000 by the Sessions Court today on five counts of corruption.

Judge Johari Hassan passed the sentence on Sazali Ibrahim, 45, after he pleaded guilty to the offences.

The Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Perlis staff was charged with accepting a total of RM6,000 between January and June 2016 from Masyitah Zubir regarding his field of work.

He was alleged to have accepted RM4,000 on Jan 7, RM1,000 on Feb 4, RM300 on April 20, RM400 on April 26 and RM300 on June 3. All the offences were committed at a bank here.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Alif Farhan Hassan prosecuted while counsel Suhaila Ahmad represent the accused.
