PETALING JAYA: It was a media frenzy at the magistrate’s court here this morning where popular actor and director Datuk Farid Kamil Zahari was hauled up for remand.
Reporters from various media agencies had begun camping at the court early in the morning for a picture of the celebrity, who arrived at 10.07am via a police pickup truck.
Clad in purple police lock-up attire, Farid, who was handcuffed, was not camera shy as dozens of lenses were trained on him as he was ushered into the courtroom.
When approached, his lawyer Athari Bahardin declined comment.
It was reported yesterday that the 37-year-old had allegedly slapped a policeman and kicked a member of the public at the Kota Damansara traffic police counter.
It is understood that Farid had gone to the police station to lodge a report on a traffic accident at 1.20pm.

Magistrate Zaki Asyraf Zubir has granted a four-day remand order against Farid Kamil.
His lawyer, Athari Bahardin, told the media that his client is being investigated under Section 90 of the Police Act for “indecent behaviour in a police station.”
“He is also being investigated under Section 323 and Section 353 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt and using criminal force to obstruct a public servant from carrying out his duties,” he added.
Athair said his client is also being investigated under Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
