35 Gang 360 members charged in Johor court [NSTTV]

JOHOR BARU: A total of 35 suspects, believed to be members of the notorious Gang 360, were charged in the Sessions Court today for involvement in organised crime for the past three years.

No plea were recorded from the 35 suspects, aged between 20 and 69, when the charges were read to them in Mandarin and Tamil by the court translator before judge Jailani Rahman.

In the charge sheet the suspects were identified as being part of the Jin Jee Tong Gang which is a monicker to Gang 360.

The accused – Seow Hwee Kiang, Lee Boon Hui, Fung Ka Siong, Chua Kah Tat, Mah Jia Fei, Lai Kah Fei, Wilson Chua Yue Hua, Lim Wen Hao, Eugene Chiam Tow Shen, Chan Chun Fei, Yap Boon Chuan, Benny Chang Xin Hao, Lau Fook Soon, Liew Yun Choy, Jacky See Jiin Long, Ng Zhen Lun, Ng Soon Kiat, Lim Heng Kiaw, Wong Jin Wei, Dinesh Balakrishnan, Sau Kah Kwee, Ong Hwee Hau, Lew Kai Yann, Kok Kat Ting, Koh Xian Ming, Lim Thiam Poon, Eric Mah Wai Soon, Tan Hong Chai, Tan Chee Hong, Leong Wen Hao, Gan Jia Ji, Yip Kah Hao, Fong Ling Chiow, and Leong Zhong Hen – were charged under Section 130V of the Penal Code for being part of an organised crime group, which carries a jail sentence between five and 20 years, upon conviction.

Meanwhile, another suspect Tan Xiang Wei, 22, was charged with abetting the triad in their operation.

He was charged under Section 130W of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 10 years, upon conviction.

All the accused were charged with committing the offences between Jan 1 2015 and Jan 14 2018.

The arrest of the 35 suspects came following investigations into the brutal murder of a gang member at a petrol station in Taman Pelangi on Dec 17, 2017.

Deputy public prosecutors Saiful Edris Zainuddin and Muhammad Fadzlan Mohd Noor prosecuted.

The accused were represented by lawyers Najib Zakaria, M Vinodharan, Jason Tan, Datin Freda Sabapathy, Melisa Abdul Kadir, Wan Zaleha Abdul Wahab, Wan Aizuddin Wan Mohd, and Muhammad Farhan Shafee.

The judge fixed March 12 for case mention. No bail was offered to any of the accused.

The proceedings, which started at 8.45am, ended almost two hours later at 10.30am.
