PETALING JAYA: A 36-year-old man was charged at the magistrate’s court today with murdering his five-year-old son last week.
Mohd Faih Rifin appeared calm when the charge was read to him before magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham.
No plea was recorded.
Faih, a former People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) member, was alleged to have murdered Muhammad Waiz Wazzini at a house in Taman Puchong Permai between 2.30pm and 5.30pm on Aug 13.
Deputy Public Prosecution Mohamad Firdaous Mohamed Idris prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
The court fixed Oct 16 for mention.
It was reported on Aug 14 that the father had slashed the boy on his head and right wrist while the child was sleeping in the living room.
