Four arrested after Kemayan Square fight

SEREMBAN: Cops arrested four men folllowing a fight in front of a shopping mall in Kemayan Square, here, last Friday.

Seremban district police chief Asst Comm Thiew Hock Poh, said the incident happened due to a misunderstanding that started out at an electronic games shop in the mall.

In the 10.15pm incident, the four were alleged to have argued and caused chaos afterwhich passers-by alerted the police.

"Police officers arrived at the location at 10.20pm and arrested all suspects aged between 20 and 39.

"They were remanded for four days beginning last Saturday to facilitate investigation," he said in a statement today.

Thiew said police were still tracking down a witness, S Munisvaran, 37, to assist in investigation.

"One suspect sustained injuries in the fight," Thiew said.

He advised members of the public with information on the witness and the incident to call the investigating officer, Mohammad Najeeb Mohammed Shukri at 06-6033284.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting.
