10 including police station chief release on bail

PUTRAJAYA: Ten people who were remanded to facilitate investigations into allegations of protecting and receiving protection money from massage parlour owners were released today.

Magistrate Saifullah Qamar Siddique Bhatti issued the order for seven civil servants to be released on bail of RM10,000 in one surety each while three other people who acted as ‘runners’ to be released on bail of RM3,000 with one surety each.

The individuals, including a police station chief, were remanded for four days beginning Tuesday.

Four massage parlour owners were also remanded for five days beginning Tuesday.

They were arrested on Monday at several locations in Klang Valley between 10 am and 5 pm.

The case is being investigated under Section 16 and Section 17 of the MACC Act 2009. – Bernama
