I believe I can fly, high?

TAWAU: In a list of things you should not do, applying for a job as a police officer while you still have marijuana in your system, should be on the top 10, at least.

For a 21-year-old in Sabah, it is unclear what he was thinking but his "determination" in attending an interview for the job of a police constable at the Tawau district police headquarters yesterday led to his arrest.

Sabah police commissioner Datuk Omar Mammah said further investigation was ongoing under the Drug Rehabilitation and Treatment Act 1983.

"This is the first time a candidate for the position of constable in Sabah was found to test positive for ganja. Any individuals who wish to apply for any positions within the police force must be free from drugs.

"This is because they will not be able to escape the initial urine test to ensure all candidates are free from drug abuse, they also have to undergo vetting and tests including fitness and physical tests," he said.
