KUALA TERENGGANU: A senior citizen has been arrested for raping and impregnating his 20-year-old stepdaughter in an incident in Besut.
The heinous crime of the 74-year-old man was exposed when the stepdaughter, who was confirmed to be five weeks’ pregnant, lodged a report at Kajang police station in Selangor last Tuesday.
According to the report, the victim claimed that back in March, the suspect entered her room while she was sleeping and forced himself on her.
The suspect also raped her two more times before the victim moved to Selangor in June.
“She only found out that she was pregnant after taking a pregnancy test before she was taken to the hospital by her aunt for further treatment.
“Following the report, the suspect was arrested at 1.30am on the same day,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Terengganu Criminal Investigation Department head Assistant Commissioner Razmi Mohd Gunnos when contacted confirmed to have received the report on the incident.
The suspect has been remanded for seven days until next Monday to assist in investigation under Section 376B of the Penal Code for incest.
