43 foreigners held at Subang, Seri Kembangan massage parlours

SHAH ALAM: A total of 43 foreigners were detained for various immigration offences in separate raids on three spa and massage parlours near Subang Jaya and Seri Kembangan yesterday.

The foreigners, aged between 20 and 50, were from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Bangladesh. Also arested were two local men employed as cashier and watchman.

Selangor Immigration Department director Mohd Shukri Nawi said the four-hour operation, which started at 9.30pm, saw the raiding party screening a total of 76 individuals.

“In Subang Jaya, two unnamed premises were raided and the operator tried to stop the raiding team from entering by locking the steel magnetic door. But it was successfully broken down.

“All the foreigners and customers could not escape the premises. A total of 20 foreigners and two locals, who are working as a cashier and watchman at both premises, were arrested,” said Shukri.

Over at a spa and massage parlour located at a basement of a shopping complex in Seri Kembangan, Shukri said 23 foreign workers were arrested after their attempt to flee the premises failed.

“The raiding team had swiftly surrounded the premises and it barred the customers and foreign workers from escaping.

“The foreign workers are believed to be working as waitresses and masseuse. They were also found to offer sex services to its customers,” said Shukri.

Shukri said those arrested were hauled to the Selangor Immigration Department enforcement office for further checks before being taken to the immigration depot in Semenyih.

He said the foreigners will be investigated for not possessing valid permits and abusing their travel pass.
